How to Use a Tool to do Keyword Research |
|
In a previous article in this series, we discussed the importance of keyword research. In this article we are going to tell you exactly how to do it. For the purpose of this article, we will be using Google’s free keyword tool, and the keyword “Detroit Real Estate” as an example. First, you will need to have a Google account and log into it. Second, at the top of the page you will see a box; this is where we will type in the keyword “Detroit Real Estate.” Third, and this is CRITICAL, you want to do an EXACT search, and not a BROAD search. The difference in the results is staggering. An exact search is much more reliable, and will let you know the approximate number of searches that are done for that term each month. Google’s default is a broad search, you will need to look about half down the left hand side of the page for a little box that says, EXACT, and click it. Make sure you read the next article in this series where we will discuss how you understand and analyze the results of your keyword research. |
