The Number 1 Search Marketing Tip

Previously on our website we discussed many basic helpful hints that can vastly improve your websites rankings within the search engines. In this article we will go over the number 1 search marketing tip that is not only highly sophisticated, extremely expensive to implement, but also only utilized by the most successful websites on the internet because of its complexity.

Hold on to your hat when you read this one, and then read it 3 or 4 more times to try and fully grasp the concept. What you want to do is to build auto-blogs for back-links that are based on the keywords that your principle money site is targeting.

You have to be wondering, what is an auto-blog? It is a blog that automatically scrapes content from the internet relevant to your chief website, then spins the articles, and finally mechanically inserts back-links based on predetermined keywords that are appropriate to your main money making site.

Why your Websites URL, Title, and Description are Very Important

Each and every website owner wants to get as much free traffic as possible. The top providers of traffic today are the three major search engines, which are Google, Yahoo, and Bing. Google is the largest by far; because of this popularity it can supply a site a vast amount of visitors on a regular basis.

The three major search engines all rank where a website will appear in their searches based on their own custom made mathematical algorithms. While these formulas differ greatly, and provide distinctive search results, they do have many sections of them that are similar.

All website owners could use to this knowledge to their benefit if they knew what it was, and how to do it. Below you will find instructions on how to implement this strategy, which can be used on any website that will significantly increase its free highly targeted traffic thanks to the search engines.

One of the most important considerations the search engines take into account when ranking it for a particular keyword, is its URL. So many people will start a website without ever doing any keyword research. If they would have only taken the time to do this, it would have provided them much more traffic, much more quickly.

This is best illustrated by using an example. Since in our other articles we have been using the real estate industry as an example, we will continue with that thought process. How many real estate companies do you see whose first word in their URL is the name of their company? Virtually every one of them, and their URL’s will look something like the following (Acerealestate.com).

Now, let me ask you another question, how many people do you think will ever do a search for (Ace Real Estate), the answer is none, unless it is the mother of the owner of the business doing it? You want your websites URL to match as closely as possible the principle “Buying Keywords” your potential customers will be using to search for the product or service your business is providing.

In the real estate industry the terms would be “Homes for Sale”, “Home for Sale”, “Condo for Sale”, or “Condos for Sale”. Before those terms a searcher would also include the city name, like Detroit. A perfect URL for a real estate company doing business in Detroit would be something like the following, “Detroithomesforsale.com”.

This is a great URL because it is going to bring your website a ton of free traffic. Unfortunately, most fantastic URL’s like the example will be long gone before you start your website. So you are going to need to think out of the box, and create one that has those prime keywords in it that will work almost as well.

The easiest way to do this is to select something other than (.Com) as your extension. You can use ones like (.Org) or (.Net). The (.Com) will always rank higher than the other extensions if all things are equal between competing websites. Another way to do this is to use dashes. In this example your URL would like “Detroit-homes-for-sale.com”.

Just this one little simple trick will get your website much more free traffic. There are two other critical elements you also must adjust, which are the websites title and description. The title is what appears in blue on the search engines pages. The description is the short explanation of your website that appears below the title.

The title and description have a limited number of characters that appear on the search engines pages, so you need to make sure you do not exceed them. A perfect title for a real estate company would be the following, (Detroit Real Estate Homes Condos for Sale or Rent).

Then you want to follow up those keywords and reinforce them to make then even stronger for the search engines. So your description would look something like this (Detroit’s #1 real estate agency with 1,000’s of homes and condos you can view that are for sale or rent).

Now let’s put them all together as they would appear on the search engines pages.

Title: (Detroit Real Estate Homes Condos for Sale or Rent)

Description: (Detroit’s #1 real estate agency with 1,000’s of homes and condos you can view that are for sale or rent)

URL: (Detroit-homes-for-sale.com)

Regardless of what business you are in, this concept will work very well in every one of them. This website will rank incredibly well for these prime time and highly lucrative “Buying Keywords” without requiring too much other work being done on it.

This is an extremely simple concept to understand and implement, that does not cost anything what so ever, which will drive highly targeted traffic to any website. Today so many owners of websites are either spending money advertising their sites, or with SEO companies to improve their rankings, when just making these small adjustments could deliver the same or better results.

Understanding Buying Keywords

This is the last article in the series based on keyword research. Please read the previous three before this one, so it is easier to understand. It is often a very delicate decision deciding on what keywords you want your website to target.

In the example we used in the preceding articles the keyword we researched was “Detroit Real Estate”. You can replace Detroit with any city; the search results for this type of business do not vary too much from location to location. Earlier we stated that a generic term like this regardless of what industry your website is in, will usually generate the most searches.

However, are those people real buyers for the product or service you are selling? The answer would be no, for the most part they are in the research mode. The most lucrative keywords are “Buying Keywords”, where the searchers are actively looking to make a purchase sometime in the near future. So your business would be better off going after the following terms.

  1. City Name Home for Sale
  2. City Name Home for Sales
  3. City Name Condo for Sale
  4. City Name Condo for Sale

These are “Buying Keywords” because of the text they used in the search, which was “Condo, House, Sale, Sales”. What makes it problematic when deciding what keywords are best for your site to go after is that these terms produce fewer searches each month, as opposed to the generic ones.

So it always ends up in a balancing act, do you go after the highly searched terms, or the keywords where the searcher is in the buying mood? In most instances you will make more money by specifically targeting “Buying Keywords”.

How to Evaluate your Keyword Research

In the previous article in this series we used Google’s free keyword tool to research the term “Detroit Real Estate”. In this article we will discuss evaluating the results, and selecting the proper keywords to target for your website.

In most, if not all real estate keyword research you will come up with the following terms, and many more.

1) City Name Real Estate

2) City Name Real Estate Agency

3) City Name Real Estate Broker

4) City Name Home for Sale

5) City Name Home for Sales

6) City Name Home for Rent

7) City Name Condo for Sale

8) City Name Condo for Rent

Now to the tricky part, understanding what you are looking at, and selecting the proper keywords to invest your time and money in. Usually, but not always, the most generic keyword, which in this instance would be “City Name Real Estate”, will return the highest volume of searches.

But, if you are a real estate agent, is that the term that is going to make you the most money? Probably not, people who use that term more than likely are just in the research mode themselves. What you want to target are “Buying Keywords”.

Please be sure to read the final article in this series where we teach you how to look for the most profitable keywords for any online market, which are “Buying Keywords”.

How to Use a Tool to do Keyword Research

In a previous article in this series, we discussed the importance of keyword research. In this article we are going to tell you exactly how to do it. For the purpose of this article, we will be using Google’s free keyword tool, and the keyword “Detroit Real Estate” as an example.

First, you will need to have a Google account and log into it. Second, at the top of the page you will see a box; this is where we will type in the keyword “Detroit Real Estate.” Third, and this is CRITICAL, you want to do an EXACT search, and not a BROAD search.

The difference in the results is staggering. An exact search is much more reliable, and will let you know the approximate number of searches that are done for that term each month. Google’s default is a broad search, you will need to look about half down the left hand side of the page for a little box that says, EXACT, and click it.

Make sure you read the next article in this series where we will discuss how you understand and analyze the results of your keyword research.

Keyword Analysis is the Secret to Dominating a Local Market Online

Competing in and dominating a local market on the internet is a relatively easy process, especially when compared to the US market, or a worldwide market. The first and most important thing you will need to do is to understand what keywords you want to target.

"The first and most important thing you will need to do is to understand what keywords you want to target." To do this, you will need to do keyword research. There are many fee based keyword tools you can use to this, such as WordTracker, KeywordSpy, or Keyword Elite. You can also use Google’s free keyword tool, if you have an account with them.

Each of these tools is going to provide different results with varying levels of reliability. Google’s is free, and works just as good as the rest, so why not use it.

Be sure to check back tomorrow for the second article in this series where we will teach you how to use these tools and move to the number one spot on the first page of all the major search engines.
