Google Algorithm: Panda Comes to YouTube |
|
There's a good article over at SearchEnginWatch.com that explains the ramifications of the Google Panda algorithm change (most folks are calling this the 'Farmer' update because it pretty much killed 'content farms'. Some of the sites that were hit the hardest were EzineArticles, GoArticles and eHow, even if you look at their sites now, you can get the gist of what they are and how to avoid it. I knew that Google was going to take drastic action against this kind of site a long time ago. Basically all the site are is spammy content written for search engines that has ZERO value to an actual human reader. Now it seems Google is implementing a similar change at YouTube: "Now, Google is constantly tuning its algorithms, but many of the changes it makes are so subtle that few people notice them. However, the Panda update was "a pretty big algorithmic improvement to our ranking -- a change that noticeably impacts 11.8% of our queries," according to The Official Google Blog, so the company let people know what was going on." Reference: SearchEngineWatch.com I'll keep an eye out for the real life changes and post an update as soon as I can write in more detail. |
